A confidential advisor is an important part of a healthy and safe working environment. In organizations we act as a confidential advisor for employees who are confronted with problems or situations that they do not feel comfortable with. Our role is to support, advise and guide employees so that they can discuss their complaints or concerns in a safe and confidential environment.

Our confidential adviser acts as a neutral and independent party. We assist employees regardless of their position within the organization and regardless of whether their complaints or problems relate to the work environment or to personal matters. We listen to the complaints of the employee, offer support and advise on possible solutions.

Our goal is to help employees find a solution they feel comfortable with. This can vary from offering practical solutions to referring to external care providers. We also work with the management of the organization to ensure that complaints or problems are dealt with appropriately.

In some cases, a counselor may also be involved in internal investigations, such as investigating conduct that violates the organization’s code or ethics. Our role in this is to support and advise the employee in question during the investigation and to ensure that the investigation is fair and independent.

Most importantly, as a trusted advisor, we are there for employees and help them deal with any issues or situations they are confronted with. We offer a listening ear, support and advice in a professional and confidential manner.
